Girbau LAB, the Waste Agency of Catalonia and Catalonian trade and fashion consortium CCAM (Consorci de Comerç, Artesania i Moda de Catalunya), are promoting the 080 reborn, a fashion show of reused clothing with outfits created by Fermin+Gilles.
The 080 reborn will be part of the 080 Barcelona Fashion week and will take place on October 28 at 12 at the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau.
At Girbau LAB we collaborate in this initiative with the aim of promoting textile reuse. It is essential to extend the life of clothing, take care of it, treat it so that it circulates as long as possible and improve its durability. Doing so will allow us to transform the way we consume resources and reduce our environmental impact.
The 080 reborn is part of the Circular Fashion Pact, an initiative that promotes a voluntary agreement to transform the textile industry towards a circular model by increasing the durability of products and the percentage of recycled material incorporated into fabrics, reducing and eliminating the use of harmful materials, increasing reuse with the implementation of new business models and implementing cleaner and more efficient production strategies.
The fashion show, created exclusively with garments recovered from textile waste sorting hubs and second-hand clothing stores, such as Fundación Formación y Trabajo, Solidança, Humana, Las Pepitas, Love Vintage, Victoria, Gi Joe Surplus, Flamingos, Cóndor, Dr. Martens y Armand Basi, among many others.
