At Girbau LAB we have been working alongside IKEA and Masias Maquinaria to develope a new process for the recovery of home textile filled products such as quilts, pillows and cushions.
After years of joint development, we have put in place an innovative process to recover textiles from post-consumer waste. The discarded material can now be treated to be reused in an effective and scalable way. This pilot represents one further step in the transition to a circular economy. Where we do not see waste, we see resources. This project also shows that collaboration is crucial in order to create better solutions to move things forward in a meaningful way globally.
We are very thankful for this project and happy with this collaboration. And we believe it will contribute substantially to textile circularity.
