On 20 October, 080 REBORN opens the runway at 080 Barcelona Fashion, at Marina Vela-Port Vell in Barcelona, with a new collection created entirely from second-hand garments.
Driven by Girbau LAB and the Agència de Residus de Catalunya, together with the Departament d’Empresa i Treball, 080 REBORN celebrates its fifth edition, strengthening its commitment to connecting fashion, creativity and textile circularity.
At Girbau LAB, we’ve been part of 080 REBORN since day one. Five years of collaboration on a project that champions the value of second-hand clothing and the importance of recovering, caring for, treating and reusing textiles to extend their lifespan. Because making fashion last also means caring for garments so they can keep circulating.
The fifth edition of 080 REBORN. 5 years of fashion, creativity and textile circularity.
Nomad. One garment, many lives.
The fifth edition features the creative vision of Fermín Serret and Gilles Saint Martin, with a collection that explores the journey of clothing.
Under the concept Nomad, garments move between people, places and contexts. They transform, gather stories and take on new meanings. A collection that shows how second-hand fashion can be contemporary, creative and surprising. And how the end of one use can mark the beginning of many new possibilities.
Five editions. Five perspectives on circularity.
Since 2022, each edition of 080 REBORN has explored textile reuse from a different perspective:
- 2022 · Second Life. Recovered clothing takes to the runway.
- 2023 · Denim – Upcycling. Transforming existing garments into new creations.
- 2024 · Counterculture. Fashion as a form of expression and reinterpretation.
- 2025 · Literature. Stories that inspire new creations.
- 2026 · Nomad. Garments that travel and experience new lives.
To celebrate these five years, 080 REBORN presents a retrospective installation at Marina Vela, outside the 080 Barcelona Fashion venue, throughout fashion week.
The installation traces the project’s evolution from reuse to circularity, highlighting the potential of existing textiles as the starting point for new creative possibilities.
Experience 080 REBORN from the inside
This fifth edition introduces something new: the 080 REBORN Experience, an initiative that brings the creative process behind circular fashion closer to the next generation of designers.
The winner, Lola Martí Gómez, has had the opportunity to spend time with Fermín + Gilles and discover how a collection is created from second-hand garments.
From garment selection and textile care to the fitting, a visit to the Liceu laundry facility and a behind-the-scenes experience at the fashion show. An opportunity to discover everything that goes into creating a collection and understand why caring for textiles is also part of the creative process.
Making fashion last
At Girbau LAB, we work to extend the life of textiles. And 080 REBORN is an opportunity to bring this vision into the world of fashion. Circularity starts with reuse, but also with how we wash, treat and care for our clothes. Preserving materials is essential to giving garments more uses, more owners and more stories.
Five years of giving fashion more lives. #makefashionlast
