Scarabat

Inspired by nature’s regenerative power, we found the perfect metaphor in the scarab beetle (Scarabaeus sacer)—a humble yet powerful creature. Venerated in ancient Egypt as a symbol of renewal, this insect transforms waste into new opportunities, just as we aim to do with microfibers collected from industrial washing machines and dryers. These microfibers will be repurposed into new products.

Scarabat is an innovation project by ARPE and Girbau LAB. A collaborative initiative of the Catalan business network, supported by the Tèxtils.cat cluster and ACCIÓ, demonstrating how the sector can tackle global challenges together.

The project’s goal is to promote the circular economy of micro-residues, raising awareness and transforming the way we perceive waste—revaluing it as a new resource. This contributes to a more responsible and sustainable industry.
