Girbau LAB at Silicon Valley, Expodetergo and the IoT World Congress

In recent weeks Girbau LAB has been in various international forums and key ecosystems of open innovation and the laundry industry sector.

The Open Innovation Platform model for the laundry industry and the projects developed by Girbau LAB have been shown internationally. During the months of October and November, the director of Girbau LAB, Mariona Sanz, together with Girbau CEOs, Mercè Girbau and Pere Girbau, have exhibited the project in Silicon Valley (California, USA); in the most important fair in the laundry industry sector, Expodetergo 2018 in Milan and in the IoT Solutions World Congress 2018 in Barcelona.

Among the various actions in Silicon Valley, Girbau LAB met at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI International) in MenloPark with two of its Vice-presidents, Robert Pearlstein and Peter Marcotullio.

Another meeting was in the incubator of design and fashion startups, the Fashion Incubation San Francisco. The exchange of knowledge was done with one of the Board of Directors, Maureen Conners, at the headquarters of the California state recycling and waste management company, Recology. There was a visit at Innovation GAP Store with GAP’s innovation manager, Jeidi K. Isern.

Several startups also presented their services at the accelerator Plug&Play Tech in San Francisco. There was also room for an informal dinner with representatives of Catalan and Spanish companies located in California.

 

Expodetergo and IoT Solutions World Congress, an opportunity to contact with Girbau LAB open innovation platform

Previously, Girbau LAB also had the opportunity to explore options for its strategic challenges in the international laundry industry fair, Expodetergo 2018, in Milan. In this environment, Girbau’s CEO, Mercè Girbau, explained how Girbau LAB is based on the pillars of the group’s strategic plan for 2020: growth, market adaptation and talent detection and retention.

One of the ongoing projects of Girbau LAB, Ind Tech Challenge, was presented in an event full of talent and startups at the IoT Solutions World Congress 2018 in Barcelona. This initiative, carried out together with the technological company Seidor, has received 127 proposals from startups with technological solutions linked to the laundry industry.
