At Girbau LAB we continue with the actions to approach disruptive and advanced solutions for the laundry industry from environments outside the company itself. We work with an open and innovative environment.
The iDrivers team of intra-entrepreneurs at Girbau Group’s headquarters will visit the Pier01 startups ecosystem environment in Barcelona. Thus, the participants of the second edition of our iDrivers program will be able to know how different startups work. The visit will be scheduled after the confinement due to COVID-19 pandemia.
In February the Girbau Innovation Committee selected two of the projects to put resources on them. Now they’ll be able to be developed and to make a market proof of concept. Previously, all the iDrivers have had continued sessions with Creacció to prepare their solutions and business proposals for Girbau Group.
Precisely with Creacció a new challenge has also been opened with students. Students from the Technology and Communication Training Center of the University of Vic-Teknos, from La Salle Manlleu and from the IES-FP Vic have begun their exploration to find solutions to a challenge linked to the industrial laundry launched by Girbau LAB.
Another of Girbau LAB’s open innovation activities in recent weeks has been the exploration of startups in the latest edition of IQSTechFest, the main International Congress of Industrial Startups organized by IQS Tech Factory. During the event, Girbau LAB director Mariona Sanz contacted various startups presenting in their prototype stands and potentially interesting solutions to incorporate into Girbau’s business.
In turn, Mariona Sanz has also had the opportunity to participate in the roundtable of the presentation of the new book on innovation for small and medium-sized enterprises by expert Alfons Cornella: ‘How to Innovate without being Google’ . There he was able to see that with creativity, open mind, determination, conviction and a clear and defined methodology and discipline, innovation is accessible to all organizations.
