We close the 2024 season of the Innovators Club with a surprising and stimulating session, featuring chef Miquel Coulibaly as our guest, founder of Comida Codac, a space for creative and experimental cuisine.
Miquel surprises the attendees with an exercise in exploring surprising flavors to unlock the palate, inviting them to reflect on the idea of abstract flavor. We thus enter a process of innovation aimed at liberating our sense of taste through three distinct codes: opaque citrus, cocoa wood, and abstract botanicals.
In this way, we identify abstract flavor as a new and unidentifiable sensation that our sense of taste cannot fully grasp. The flavor doesn’t come from anywhere; we generate it ourselves through our sense of taste.
Miquel talks about Abstract Code, this guided sequence of flavors, which has the peculiarity of unlocking the palate to detect new taste patterns. Thanks to this exercise, we can modulate our perception of flavor and integrate new information that we can process in very different ways.

- Descriptive perception of what we are eating.
- Disorientation, the first stage of doubt.

There are countless possibilities behind everything we eat. We must not perpetuate the consolidation of the past; instead, we must prioritize and decisively embrace the new. Deconstruct to construct. Because the future has not yet happened, and for that reason, it cannot take shape within it. There must be a phase of disconnection and abstraction to formulate new questions and open the door to unexpected discoveries.
With this session, the Innovators Club closes its 2024 season, leaving participants with the taste of the unexpected and the inspiration to look beyond the known.
